Mike Kendall is a singer-songwriter from Central Florida. Mike started playing guitar at the age of 15, and was involved for many years in various genres of music throughout Central Florida from 1992 to 2002. Then after starting a family Mike took a break from music other than playing guitar for various churches and studio work for other artists. Spending most of 2020 and 2021 in the Smokey Mountains of North Carolina, this allowed for much of the inspiration to start songwriting again. Over the past few years Mike has been crafting songs that come from the experience of being a husband and father, and the struggles of life, death, love, heartache, addiction, and redemption. The first release off Mike's upcoming EP is "Out of the Gate", a song that tells the story of love, betrayal, and forgiveness all through the lens of inside a long car ride. The second release is “Steps Toward Forgiveness", a song about being haunted by regret, and how the words we speak can bring life or can bring death to others. Newly released “Make It Out Alive” is about struggle and survival in a small mountain town. Mike's influences include Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Townes Van Zandt, American Aquarium, Jeffrey Martin, and Gregory Alan Isakov. Fans of Americana, Indie Folk, Alternative Folk, and Singer-Songwriters will find raw and emotional storytelling weaved into Mike's songs that show the contrast between the beauty and the chaos of life.
